AI Based Data Insights for an Air-Gapped Environment

CastleGuard from Nextria and Tableau from SalesForce join forces to produce an AI based Analytics solution for On-Premise Environments

Just like peanut butter and chocolate, two powerful products came together this week to create something even better: Analytics with AI for On-Premise Environments.  The product partnership consisted of:

  • CastleGuard AI - the air-gapped AI software platform from Nextria
  • Tableau - the premiere Analytics and Reporting platform from Salesforce

The result was a leap forward in how AI can be combined with Analytics software in the workplace, where sensitive data handling is a hard requirement and access to cloud-based AI’s is not an option.

Unique Delivery #1 - CastleGuard AI embedded within Tableau Server Dashboards

Since Tableau Server is installed on-premise, it doesn’t always have access to the latest AI-based features from SalesForce like Tableau Einstein.  AI capabilities are however, in high demand by their customer base.

Enter CastleGuard.  By leveraging the CastleGuard SDK, it was possible to embed CastleGuard AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) inside a Tableau Dashboard.  The CastleGuard API was then used to exchange data between the two products.  The results were impressive:

  • Users can now click on areas of their dashboard and interact with their selected data by asking the AI questions about it.

Example Dashboard (based on publicly available Grant Distribution data for the Ontario Trillium Foundation):

By having an AI assistant available to help analyze sensitive data in-house, companies and organizations can now get insights that were previously beyond their reach. They can also create their own analytics views more quickly by having instant access to technical information and guidance, all within their secure environment.

Unique Delivery #2 - Tableau Server Dashboards to Monitor AI Usage

Once CastleGuard AI is installed on-premise, executives at an organization typically want to know 3 things:

  • How is it being used by my team?
  • How well is it performing?
  • How much am I saving in time and money?

They don’t want a subjective and long-winded technical brief.
They want one-page charts with real data and real answers.

Enter Tableau Server.  By leveraging Tableau’s graphical analytics capability, it was possible to take an extraction of actual usage data from CastleGuard and embed it into several Tableau Dashboards.  The results were compelling:

  • Visualizations in the form of colourful and interactive one-page charts that showed the answer to each of the 3 questions:
    • How often the AI is being used, for what purpose, and by whom?
    • How well is it performing?
    • What was the Return on Investment (ROI) for any given period?

Example:

By being able to monitor how their AI is being used, companies and organizations can focus on high-value use cases, then train all their employees to use it that way to be more productive.

The customization possibilities of having your own AI at your service are endless.  Combining it with best-in-class Analytics tools makes it even better.
